Monday Night, actually Tuesday morning between 4:00AM and 7:00AM temperatures in Fayette County could be in the mid to upper 30's with partly cloudy skies, and winds to 16 MPH.
If the warm winter has had you planting some cold/frost sensitive veggies early, remember to cover them to protect from frost damage

Sustainable regenerative gardening principles outlined in Paul Gautschi's Back to Eden documentary and an abundance of online gardening resources teach us that the better we care for the soil, the better our harvests will be both in quality and quantity of produce, and with a reduction of labor. As our harvests increase our combined pantry contributions with other gardeners also increase.
Our “little” becomes something big, and the result is everyone wins.

If you have a home garden it is likely that you spend a good deal of time planning for and working to grow, harvest and enjoy fresh seasonal produce from your garden, and like most gardeners, you'll grow a little extra for friends and family, and even grow a little more to preserve as canned or frozen for a year-round benefit. If you also grow a little more for AMEN La Grange, your garden is an AMEN Garden, and the combined Gardens donation is a blessing to the patrons of our Community Food Pantry.

The AMEN Gardens Team is not a nonprofit, nor are we formally associated with AMEN Food Pantry. We have no dues, and AMEN Gardens does not engage in any commerce.
We are community gardeners of all skill levels with two common goals: to support the AMEN La Grange Food pantry through the cities "Grow an Extra Row" incentive with donations of fresh produce from our gardens, and to communicate informally with one another sharing experiences in gardening for the betterment of the whole group, and ultimately the collective contribution to the food pantry.
Make your garden an AMEN Garden by planting an extra row for the AMEN La Grange food pantry. The combined harvest with other gardens is a significant contribution.

All produce is welcome! But we encourage
gardeners to follow organic growing practices for the AMEN patrons we serve.
Reach out. Many of us will be happy to share
how we grow our produce without chemical
fertilizers or pesticides.

From the account of Ruth and Boaz in the
Bible, the glean was to be of the best quality,
not out-dated, or poor quality.
We encourage you to donate what you would put on your table for your family.

You may not think you have enough to bring.
But that’s the great thing about donating
together, our little becomes a lot.
If each of us grows a little extra of the same
thing, that makes a big difference when it
comes together at the pantry. Never feel like
your donation is too little.

We love gardening and want to share both what has worked and what hasn't worked for us. Even more we hope to receive blog posts from fellow gardeners in the La Grange area.

Where can I find bulk mulch? Where can I find mushroom Compost? Who can deliver a truckload of mulch? Who are some top seed companies? We try to offer room for local companies to advertise all things gardening as well as provide recommendations from the AMEN Gardens Team

Knowing when to plant in our area can be a little tricky. We provide what we feel are the best general source garden planting calendars and discuss some ways to refine and make a personal planting schedule for your garden.
